Flag Hoisting and Cultural Program at Unchadi

On the sunny morning of 68th Independence Day, Rotary Club Bhavnagar Royal had organized multiple programs at Kedravarti School, Unchadi as a part of Gram Kalyan Project initiatives.

The day started with Flag Hoisting by Sarpanch Makodbhai. He narrated importance of Independence and remembered our martyrs who lost their lives in bringing those days of liberty. Club President Brijesh Parikh congratulated the School staff and village people for the excellent arrangements and conveyed wishes on the Independence day. He also outlined future planning of Projects at the adopted village and urged for the required support for the entire 3 years plan as a part of GKP. School Principal Shri Odhavjibhai Naghera had, in his short address, explained importance of National properties and requested all to take care of School Building and campus. GKP Chair Puneet Acharya was the hero of the day as the entire event was impossible without his constant and untiring efforts since past 2-3 weeks. He also narrated club’s objectives regarding future proceedings under GKP initiatives. PP Himal Pandya motivated students to serve for nation and to work with honesty and integrity.

The highlights of the event were undoubtedly the cultural performances by school children including songs, dances and an inspiring Mime act showing importance of Trees and Environment. Village children shown their inherent talents and it was enjoyed by heart by everyone attended the event. After the performances, Raincoats were distributed among the students. We are thankful to DG Ashish Ajmera for providing 50 raincoats to each club to be distributed among needy children. President Elect Dr. Bharat Nakrani could not attend the project because of some family emergency, but he was keen to make the event more and more fruitful. He generously contributed for lovely water bottles that were gifted to participants of Cultural performances. IPP Chirag Trivedi was instrumental in bringing in-kind donation of writing pads from HDFC Mutual Fund, which were presented to the winners of Coloring competitions which was held between nearly 125 students. PP Deval Zala contributed generously for the oil pestles gifted to participants of the contest.

We are thankful to District GKP Cochair PP Bhavnesh Mehta, President Nominee Vijay Patel, PR Chair Pranjal Desai and three rotaractor friends for attending the program.
